I found yoga at a time in my life when I was suffering from anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts. The practice of asana quickly began to change my life. It provided’ me with a foundation that I could trust in. I enjoy using my body as a gateway to the present, allowing depression from the past and anxiety about the future to slip away quietly. Many of my accomplishments on my mat have come simply from my belief that I should be able to succeed because I was born with everything that I needed.
My first training was a 500 hour intensive yoga course in L.A. in 2011. Since that time I have completed more then 1500 hours of training and continue to study with elite teachers in the industry, including Kim Tang, Esak Garcia and Francisco Morales Bermudez.
I have been teaching Ghosh Lineage Yoga full time in both Alberta and BC since I graduated and have been lucky to spend time travelling and teaching in both Thailand and Indonesia.
My competence as a teacher comes from experience. But the passion and drive for what I do comes from me. We all have this within ourselves. Belief in Self is one of the biggest lessons in human life. I want to help you to give yourself the gift of vitality, health and good posture. But I also want you to realize your own potential for greatness, kindness, compassion, and love.
The three most important things I can convey to my students:
1. You are in a safe, warm room to explore yourself, your “edge”, and your current reality so you can see a path to self awareness. I believe with self awareness the gates to change open.
2. I strive to provide a consistent, challenging, informative class, allowing you to trust me and the process. The process is not always easy, but in my experience, always rewarding.
3. I also want my students to know thats it’s okay to be uncomfortable: that with discomfort comes change, physical, mental and emotional.
I’m honoured to have the opportunity to lead you in your practice, a practice that can change your life if you allow it.
